1. Who this page is for
This page is for people who have a Formao account: users of the web app at app.formao.ai and of the Formao apps for iOS, Android and desktop. It explains how to delete your account and the personal information associated with it, what gets deleted, and what we may keep.
Uninstalling the app from your phone does not delete your account. To delete it, follow section 3.
If you don’t have a Formao account but signed a document or received a newsletter sent through Formao, see section 8.
2. Before you delete
- Keep what you need. An organization with no other active members is deleted together with your account, with all its content. To keep documents, export them as PDF or Word files first.
- Hand over ownership where needed. If you are the only owner of an organization that has other members, first make another member an owner (on the web: Settings → Members & roles). Until then, the account can’t be deleted.
- Deletion is permanent and can’t be undone.
3. How to delete your account
- In the iOS or Android app: Settings → Account → Delete account.
- On the web at app.formao.ai: the user menu → Account security → Delete account.
Before anything is deleted, you see what will be deleted and what stays, and you confirm with your password — and with a code from your authenticator app if two-step verification is on. The deletion takes effect immediately.
Using the desktop app? Delete the account on the web or in the mobile app — it’s the same account.
Can’t access your account? Ask us to delete it, as described in section 4.
4. Asking us by form or email
- Contact form: send a request through our contact form, choosing “Account deletion”.
- Email: email [email protected] from the email address of your Formao account.
Include the email address of your account. To protect it, before deleting anything we confirm that the request came from the account holder — for example, by asking you to confirm it from the account’s email address.
5. What gets deleted
- Your account and profile — name, email address, password hash, job title, language and other settings, including two-step verification.
- Google or Apple sign-in identities connected to the account.
- Your sessions — you are signed out on every device.
- Push notification tokens of your devices — they stop receiving notifications.
- Personal signatures, short signatures and initials you saved — in every organization. Company signatures, stamps and seals belong to the organization and stay with it.
- An organization you own that has no other active members: the organization and all its content — documents, files, templates, brands, customers and contacts, signature requests, newsletters, the audit trail and everything else in it.
In organizations with other members, the content stays with the organization, because it belongs to it. This includes documents you created or edited in the organization, and records of actions you took on its documents — for example in the document history, the audit trail or a signing certificate of completion.
6. What we may keep
- A record of the deletion itself — when the account was deleted, and under what name — in our system log, so we can confirm that it happened.
- Information we must keep by law or to resolve disputes, for as long as that requires.
- Residual copies in backups, which are removed within 90 days.
- Content that belongs to an organization that was not deleted, as described in section 5.
7. Timeline
Deleting in the app or on the web takes effect immediately. A request by form or email is completed within 30 days of the verified request, and we confirm by email when it is done. Residual copies in backups are removed within 90 days.
8. Signers and newsletter recipients
If you don’t have a Formao account but signed a document, received a document or a signature request, or receive a newsletter from an organization that uses Formao, your information is part of that organization’s content, and the organization is responsible for it. To access or delete it, contact the organization that sent you the document or newsletter; we will help the organization as needed.
To stop receiving a newsletter, use the unsubscribe link included in every newsletter.
9. Questions
For questions about deletion or your personal information, email [email protected]. You can read more in our Privacy Policy.
